declared an "Incident of National Significance". OSHA and the

"Turns Up the Heat" on HAZMAT Carriers
DOT has just announced that
over the last 10 years, 20-30,000 carriers NEVER
had required safety checks performed before they were
issued a HAZMAT permit. Starting this month,
DOT will require all companies shipping HAZMAT to file new permit applications and
undergo a "fitness review," before the permit is
