OSHA Site Supervisor ANNUAL Refresher-Online: As of 2005, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires that all Site Supervisors receive ANNUAL Refresher Training. This training must be done IN ADDITION to the required annual refresher under 29 CFR 1910.120 ("e" or "q") which is required for all HAZWOPER workers. EACH SITE must have at least one (1) person who is trained and qualified to act as a Site Supervisor.

What is a Site Supervisor? A Site Safety and Health Supervisor (or official) refers to the individual on a hazardous waste site who is;

  1. Responsible to the employer for site safety;
  2. Has the authority and knowledge necessary to implement the site safety and health plan;
  3. Verifies compliance with applicable safety and health requirements.
Prerequisites: Before an individual can take this Annual Refresher course, they must have completed the OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training course and all subsequent annual refreshers. The employee must have first completed the OSHA Site Supervisor Initial Training. IF you have not completed these courses, you MUST complete these trainings FIRST. OSHA's regulations 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(8) state that Annual Refresher Training for managers and supervisors specified in paragraph (e)(4) of this section (HAZWOPER Site Supervisors), shall receive eight hours of refresher training annually on the items specified in paragraph (e)(4) of this section (suggested training topics for Supervisors & Managers) any critique of incidents that have occurred in the past year that can serve as training examples of related work, and other relevant topics.
