Qualitative Fit Testing

As part of a complete Respiratory Protection Program, all employees who wear a respirator must have a Fit-Test performed on the respirator to be used by the employee. Compliance Solutions offers Irritant Smoke fit testing.

Qualitative fit testing is performed using Irritant Smoke a standard procedure recommended by OSHA. After completing the fit test, the student will be issued a pass/fail notification that should be returned to their employer for inclusion with their employee medical records. In order to participate in a fit test, the student is REQUIRED to have the following:

1. Current Respirator ("Fit-to-Wear") Clearance. This clearance must have been performed and signed by a medical professional within the last 12 months. Students MUST bring a copy of the clearance to class to be fit tested. NO EXCEPTIONS!

2. The Actual Respirator they will be using on the job. Respirators that are used in the classroom , for demonstration purposes CANNOT be used as OSHA requires a fit test on the actual respirator the employee uses in the field BEFORE use on the job.

3. TWO (2) NEW P-100 or HEPA Filters to be used during the test. Filters are not supplied by the company.

4. Clean Shaven Face. If the student has facial hair, they must shave the day of the fit test.

Important: Please make sure your employees meet the requirements and have the proper documentation BEFORE registering. If you register an employee for a fit-test and fail to meet the above requirements, we are NOT able to refund the cost of your fit test.

Registration Directions:

Add the fit test item to your shopping cart and specify the number of respirators you will require a fit test for by changing the quantity number. As an example, if you require fit testing for two different respirators, change the quantity to "2".

Important Note:

Compliance Solutions can accept UP TO 3 registrations PER company for any open enrollment date without incurring additional fees. For clients who require more than 2 registrations, we do offer on-site fit testing for large groups. Please be advised that IF on-site fit testing is requested, additional charges will be billed to cover travel and labor expenses.

Registration: Open Enrollment Sessions: You may register up to 3 employees for our Open Enrollment Sessions (listed below). Simply select the Date and City from the Location drop down, then change the Quantity to reflect the number of employees to have fit tested.
