Companies who have employees that are required wear respirators as part of their job function are REQUIRED by OSHA to provide the Following: A written respiratory protection program, provide employee training (annually), provide medical clearances (annually) and finally have a respiratory fit test at least once per year.

Qualitative fit testing is performed with Irritant Smoke using the procedures required by the smoke-generator manufacturer and  OSHA. After completing the fit test, the employee will be issued a pass/fail notification that should returned to their employer for inclusion with the employee's medical records. In order to participate in the fit test, the employee is required to have the following:

1. A Respirator Clearance: Also know as a "Fit To Wear" must be conducted by a medical professional and signed within the last year. The document must show that the employee is fit enough to wear restrictive air flow devices.  When the fit test is performed, the employee MUST LEAVE A COPY a copy of the clearance WITH US..... NO EXCEPTIONS!

2. A Respirator. The employee MUST bring the respirator they will be using on the job. Respirators that are used in the classroom CANNOT be used. OSHA requires the employee be fit tested on the actual respirator they use on the job.

3. Two (2) NEW P-100 or Organic Vapor Cartridges. The employee must bring 2 NEW cartridges that are manufactured for their respirator to the fit test.

4. Shaven Face. If the employee has facial hair, they must be clean shaven in the area the mask seals on the day of the fit test. If they are unsure of the specific areas, a clean shave is suggested.

5. Please make sure your employees have ALL the above items. Any employee who registers for the fit test and does not meet the above requirements/does not have the proper materials will NOT be refunded the fit testing fee.

The cost for EACH TEST is $35.00. If you are purchasing online,  add the Fit Test to your shopping cart and specify the number of respirators you need tested. If you require more than one test, change the quantity ordered; As an example, if you require fit testing for two different respirators, change the quantity to "2".
