Students must pass a graded final exam with a score of 70% or better.
Objective:
At the conclusion of this course, students will:
- Understand OSHA's history, purpose, and regulations
- Incorporate the OSH Act and OSHA mission into everyday work practice
- Learn how the CFR is organized on the Web and in the book
- Understand OSHA programs, inspections, and penalties
- Evaluate employer and employee rights and responsibilities
Course Overview: The Introduction
to OSHA Course is designed to provide the student with an understanding of the
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and how to locate published
OSHA information.
OSHA's mission is to send every worker home whole and healthy
every day. Since the agency was created in 1971, workplace fatalities have been
cut in half and occupational injury and illness rates have declined 40 percent.
At the same time, U.S. employment has nearly doubled from 56 million workers at
3.5 million work-sites to 105 million workers at nearly 6.9 million sites.
