 This one day course covers the requirements of 49 CFR 172.704 which requires any person involved in offering a hazardous material for transportation to be properly trained.  The course must be refreshed every 3 years or when regulations substantially change. Employees may not perform materials functions unsupervised until the training has been completed. This course is intended for individuals who manage hazardous materials in their job. This includes employees who:

  • Prepare hazardous materials' shipping papers and/or manifests;

  • Prepare hazardous materials for shipping

  • Handle hazardous materials before, during, and after shipment

  • Handle containers or packaging containing hazardous materials;

  • Are responsible for the safety of hazardous materials; and

  • Own or operate vehicles that transport hazardous materials.

    Confined Space Entry  as per 29 CFR 1910.146

     Designed in accordance with OSHA’s confined space entry standard 29 CFR 1910.146, this course is required for anyone who enters a “Permit Required Confined Space”.   A Permit Required Space meets the definition of a confined space and  has the potential to contain a hazardous atmosphere, engulfment danger, internal configuration dangers, or serious health and safety hazard.  Course highlights: Lock Out/Tag Out, atmospheric hazards, test instruments, fire behavior risk assessment and much more.

    OSHA Site Supervisor as per 29 CFR 1910.120

     OSHA requires that each and every hazardous site have at least one person trained as a “Site Supervisor”, on site at all times.  This course meets the OSHA training requirements for supervisors and managers involved in the management and administration of waste site activities who are required to have an additional 8 hours of training beyond the initial 40 hour certification.  This course emphasizes the importance, application and limitations of site safety planning.  Attendees will be trained in the development and implementation of a site safety plan.

    EPA Hazardous/Toxic Waste Management as per 40 CFR 262.34 & 265.16 (2 Days)

     This intensive 2 day course is designed for individuals who have the responsibility of managing hazardous waste, its treatment, storage or disposal.  The class gives a detailed explanation of all aspects of hazardous waste management requirements under 40 CFR 262.34 (generators) and 265.16 (TSDF employees). Management and supervisory personnel will have the opportunity to explore many topics in-depth, relating to management and maintenance of waste systems.

    40 Hour (HAZWOPER) Hazardous Waste Operators and Emergency Response, (Initial Training for site workers) as per 29 CFR 1910.120(q)

     OSHA requires that any worker who comes in contact with or handles hazardous waste must be sufficiently trained to ensure their personal safety.  The HAZWOPER provides 40 hours of safety training to meet the classroom requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120(e).  Personnel attending this course will cover health and safety procedures and personal protection during work operations at hazardous materials sites.  The HAZWOPER must be refresher every 12 months in order to maintain compliance and certification with OSHA.

    24 Hour (HAZWOPER) Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response, (Initial Training for occasional site workers) as per 29 CFR 1910.120(q)

     Not all personnel require the 40-hour HAZWOPER training.  For those individuals who’s job functions require occasional or limited exposure to hazardous materials, the 24 hour HAZWOPER course will meet OSHA’s requirements.  Examples of personnel requiring this type of training may include: sales and administrative professionals, drivers, office staff, plant and manufacturing personnel, sampling technicians or anyone who’s job function may include the possibility of limited exposure to hazardous materials.

    8 Hour (HAZWOPER) Required Annual Refresher for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response as per 29 CFR 1910.120(e)

     This course meets OSHA's requirements for the required 8-hour refresher training for individuals who have previously taken the  40 and 24-hour HAZWOPER certifications.  Personnel with either certification must complete this course within 365 days of their graduation date, annually.  This course reviews the required subject matter and updates any regulatory changes within the last year.
