Who Should Take This Course?

Personnel who are involved in the cleanup of spills in manufacturing environments as well as those individuals who are responsible for control or containment of hazardous or potentially hazardous materials are required to receive Emergency Response training. This initial training course focuses on the identification and safe handling of hazardous materials. Individuals who are members of a response team should always have site specific training and drills tailored to their specific hazards before attempting cleanup or containment. In order to stay in compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain certification, a refresher course should be completed annually.

Overview

The Emergency Response Technician Level III Initial Training Seminar provides training mandated under OSHA 29 CFR1910.120(q). This course is conducted in conjunction with our 40-Hour HAZWOPER course. Workers attending this instructor-lead course will cover 18 different OSHA suggested topics including Health and Safety Procedures, PPE used during work operations, Medical Monitoring and many others. The course is held over four days, 10-hours each day.

Course Objectives

This training is mandated under OSHA 29 CFR1910.120(q). This course is conducted in conjunction with our 40-Hour HAZWOPER course. Workers attending this instructor-lead course will cover 18 different OSHA suggested topics including Health and Safety Procedures, PPE used during work operations, Medical Monitoring and many others. The course is held over four days, 10-hours each day. Although the OSHA requirement is only 24 hours, because we hold it concurrently with our 40 Hour class all 24ER students must attend all 4 ten hour days.

Completion Instructions, Requirements, and Checklist

Qualitative Fit Testing: Irritant Smoke Fit testing is available for $35.00 per test. You MUST REGISTER for the fit testing IN ADVANCE as well as meet specific medical requirements. To review fit testing guidelines and requirements, click here: Review Fit Testing Requirements

Registration Requirements: In order to satisfy OSHA training requirements, each student MUST bring a copy of their company’s Written Emergency Response Plan (ERP). This plan will be used in-class as an exercise and is a required in order to receive certification. After you register, you will receive a call from our Customer Service Department at Compliance Solutions. At that time, you will need to e-mail an electronic copy of the ERP (PDF or Word format). In addition, each student should bring a WRITTEN COPY to class with them. Students who do NOT have access to an ERP or companies who have not yet developed a plan, should register their employees for the 40-Hour HAZWOPER course instead.
